About Copenhagen
Copenhagen is an old city with beautiful historic buildings and attractions. The ramparts and walls, which surrounded the city center, were taken down in the middle of the 1800s. This has given the city charming architecture with narrow curving streets in the center combined with a vibrant shopping and café scene.
Over the past few years, Copenhagen has supplemented its architectural heritage with new, world-class architecture. Star architects both Danish, such as Bjarke Ingels and French Jean Nouvel, have built imposing buildings which have been inspired by the future. New districts and architecture have sprung up to emerge with the past.
Copenhagen is known for its relaxing atmosphere, and Copenhageners cycle to work, hang out with their families and friends in one of the many parks, jump in the harbor pools in the summer, and actively participate in the many events held in the city.

Nyhavn
This iconic postcard-ready sight is somewhat of a sudden splash of colour, and a definite must-visit when in town. Stroll along the harbour and sit down for an evening drink in one of the many enticing establishments, most of which offer heating and blankets to make for a cosy time even at low temperatures.
Peder Oxe’s Wine Cellar
Peder Oxe’s Vinkælder is a cozy bar located in the lively Gråbrødretorv. The drinks menu wows with unique cocktails and beers. The bar is known for its authentic atmosphere owing to the bars new furnishing which combines traditional with new and exciting elements. Guest DJs play at the weekends.

Public Transport
The Copenhagen Metro, which has been ranked the best in the world for several years, runs between the airport and the city centre - useful for both tourists and locals. It takes just 15 minutes to get from the airport to Kongens Nytorv in the heart of Copenhagen, but you can also get off at Christianshavn or Nørreport. www.m.dk
S-trains - The bright red regional "S" trains connect the suburbs and the surrounding towns with the city. Web: www.dsb.dk
Buses are efficient and use the same ticketing and pricing system as the S trains and the metro. www.moviatrafik.dk
