When you make a booking with Blue Air and you include the travel insurance, you’ll receive a confirmation email from XCover along with a link to log in to your XCover account where you can access all your insurance documents, including your insurance policy.
You can purchase the travel insurance online, via the Blue Air Mobile App, using either a credit card or the other payment options available. Please note that similarly to other third-party products and services, Blue Air Wallet cannot be used for the purchase of travel insurance.
During issuance, you’ll be able to see the benefits of the protection and read the travel insurance policy. After purchase, you can view your travel insurance policy by logging in to your XCover account.
Anyone who is making a booking on the Blue Air Mobile App can purchase a travel insurance policy, provided that they are above 18 years old and reside in one of the following countries: Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Sweden.
Depending on your policy terms, the insurer may cover the costs incurred if you have had to cancel or cut your trip short due to an illness or injury, including COVID-19. Emergency medical expenses incurred while you’re travelling may also be covered alongside other benefits. For specific details about your policy, please log in to your XCover account to see what’s covered.
Most policies don't cover pre-existing illnesses or changes to government regulations and you also won’t be covered if you cancel your trip for personal reasons or if you incur cancellation costs due to voluntary no-shows. For specific details about your policy, please log in to your XCover account to see what’s covered.
The specific start and end dates will be specified in your policy. You will be covered against cancellation costs from the moment you purchase your flight along with the travel insurance. The remaining coverages of the policy will come into effect from the time you commence your trip until your trip ends. If you have a one-way flight, you will be covered against cancellation costs from the moment of purchase and your insurance policy will be valid for a period of 8 days.
Depending on your policy terms and dates, you may be able to modify or cancel your travel insurance. You can check if you are eligible for a refund in your XCover account. If you purchased travel insurance and then change your travel date or name of the passengers, you can contact the insurance provider directly in order to modify your travel insurance policy. Changes to your travel insurance policy can only be made before the trip has started. Please note that any changes in the duration of your trip may result in additional charges to your travel insurance. The airline shall not be responsible for any passengers who fail to modify their travel insurance policy. You can cancel your travel insurance policy within 14 days of purchase as long as you have not started your trip.
If your trip is rescheduled (either for voluntary reasons or due to schedule changes made by the airline) you might want to update your travel insurance policy by contacting XCover. Check your emails for confirmation from XCover. If you didn’t receive the email, we recommend checking your policy in your XCover account. You can contact XCover at any time by replying to any of their emails or text messages.
Depending on your country and the type of claim, there may be a small excess or deductible applicable when making a claim. For more information, please check your travel insurance policy in your XCover account.
If your coverage includes 24/7 emergency assistance or a related benefit, you can contact XCover Assist to arrange hospital or other treatments. You can follow the steps outlined in your travel insurance policy or visit xcover.com/claim to get started straight away.

Some medical-related benefits may require pre-approval from the insurer. Please check your travel insurance policy in your XCover account before proceeding with the necessary treatments in order to be sure they are covered by the policy.
