Following the last-minute notification regarding the extension by another 3 days of the closure of the Bacau International Airport, until October 12, Blue Air is forced to cancel flights until that date

Bucharest, October, 7th 2020

Following a new communication received yesterday, regarding the delayed reopening of Bacau International Airport by another 3 days, after its modernization works, Blue Air cancels all planned flights departing from Bacau airport between October 9 - 12, 2020.

Bacau International Airport has been closed for modernization works and was due to reopen on September 30. The airport reopening was first delayed until October 5, and subsequently until October 9. During all this time, Blue Air provided bus transportation for the affected passengers who wanted to travel from Suceava airport.

Customers affected by these new cancellations have the option to choose a flight departing from Bucharest, if available on the same day. Blue Air will organize bus transportation for passengers who choose this option. Passengers who do not choose to travel from Bucharest airport will have the option to change their flight dates once, for free, and will be able to travel as soon as Bacau Airport reopens, or they will be able to request a refund in the Blue Wallet electronic wallet attached to their account on the website. These two options are available directly on the website in the "Reservation Status" Section, and the choice can be made directly on the site by each passenger. If none of the listed options is chosen by the passenger, he may request a refund of the amount of the price paid on the plane ticket.
The Blue Air team makes every effort to be able to honor these refunds, however this may take longer, given the current delay in accessing the funds from the approved state loan, as well as the reduction in flight demand due to the new travel restrictions.

All scheduled flights departing from Bacau International Airport after October 12 remain available for passengers with no change in their schedule. Blue Air is determined to consolidate its leading position in Bacau and to launch the new flights planned to be operated from the base in Bacau as soon as possible.

Blue Air apologizes for the inconvenience caused to its passengers by these cancellations and assures them that operations will be resumed according to the usual schedule as soon as Bacau International Airport is being reopened.
